Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct time and method studies establishing time standards for manufacturing operations.
  • Provide Industrial Engineering support to manufacturing operations via lean/Kaizen.
  • Develop plant layouts, work instructions, and setup procedures with safety and quality in mind.
  • Handle automation with robotic materials and parts.
  • Develop and manage process FMEA documentation.
  • Troubleshoot processes and equipment and eliminate downtime via root cause analysis.
  • Test sensors, adjust setups, and manage robotic weld cells.
  • Support 8D/problem resolution methods and IATF16949 documentation.

Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Responsible for Engineering Changes. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new and revised products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct time and method studies establishing time standards for manufacturing operations.
  • Provide Industrial Engineering support to all manufacturing operations through the application of lean manufacturing / Kaizen principles.
  • Responsible for Engineering Changes.
  • Develop plant layouts, work instructions, process flow layout, set-up procedures while adhering to safety, quality and productivity procedures and policies.
  • Handle automation with robotic materials and parts.
  • Develop and management of process FMEA's and other process documentation.
  • Troubleshooting of processes and equipment.
  • Develop, monitor and report production measurables and productivity incentive plans.
  • Refurbishing and repurposing of equipment.
  • Develop, monitor and report production measurables and productivity incentive plans.
  • Support and trouble shoot 8D / Problem resolution methods.
  • Responsible for IATF16949 documentation requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, a related field, or equivalent education and experience.

3 plus years of work experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.

  • Welding proficiency
  • Fixture modification and adjustment.
  • Operate and program robotic weld cells.
  • Works to eliminate downtime. Identifies and eliminates sources of downtime and extraneous variation through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures with the Engineering Teams.
  • Ability to test sensors, change sensors, set-up failsafe, adjust light curtains and change out feeders, powerpacks and reamers.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
