Job summary

Michigan Milk Producers Association is seeking a Manufacturing Reliability Engineer to enhance equipment reliability, process performance and control-system stability across our dairy facilities.

This hands-on role partners with Maintenance and Operations to investigate failures, reduce downtime and implement long-term improvements across multiple sites. Travel to facilities is required, with a focus on proactive reliability and plant-wide impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent technical experience.
• 2+ years of manufacturing, controls, automation, or industrial engineering.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, VFDs, and automation systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Investigate chronic equipment and process failures using root cause analysis.
• Develop and implement solutions to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Analyze downtime data, maintenance history and field observations for improvements.
• Troubleshoot and improve PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, VFDs and control systems.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations to resolve complex issues and coach teams.
