Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Quality-Tester in North Carolina to verify product quality across incoming inspection, fabrication, assembly, and wiring processes.

The role reports to the Quality Leader and sits in Mebane, NC, contributing to the reliability and protection of electrical infrastructure. You will perform pre-testing, participate in Factory Acceptance Testing, troubleshoot issues, and maintain detailed records to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in a technical or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Experience using Microsoft Office apps (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Desired experience in ERPs and quality management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and models.
• Skilled in using hand tools and measurement equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, flexibility and attention to detail.
• Must have work authorization to work in the US for ABB.

Responsibilities

• Performing physical pre-testing activities for newly developed products to ensure product quality and validating manufacturing processes.
• Assisting the team in performing all required checks as part of the Factory Acceptance Testing process.
• Inspecting and troubleshooting identified issues, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions with stakeholders.
• Maintaining accurate testing records, data, and documentation, ensuring regulatory and quality management compliance.

This Position reports to: Quality Specialist

Across multiple energy-intensive industries, the business provides customers with end-to-end product and service solutions that help ensure the reliability and protection of their electrical infrastructure. The role reports to the Quality Leader and is located in Mebane, North Carolina. As a Manufacturing Quality-Tester, you will be responsible for verifying the quality of work being completed in functions such as incoming inspection, fabrication, assembly, and/or wiring.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing physical pre-testing activities for newly developed products to ensure product quality and validating manufacturing processes.
• Assisting the team in performing all required checks as part of the Factory Acceptance Testing process.
• Inspecting and troubleshooting any identified issues, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Maintaining accurate testing records, data, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality management systems.

Qualifications for the role

• Associate Degree in a technical or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college. (Degree has a focus in electronics or electrical systems OR 2 years experience with electrical/electronics testing.)
• Experience using computers Microsoft office apps like excel, word and web applications.
• Desired experience in ERPs and quality management systems.
• Ability and willingness to read and interpret technical drawings and models.
• Skilled in using hand tools and measurement equipment.
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Initiative, teamwork, flexibility & attention to detail.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
