Job Description

Pay: $26.14 - $28.56/hr + $2.00/hr shift differential for hours worked after 5:30 pm

Location: Pen Argyl, PA

Shift: Monday 8 am - 5:30 pm; Tuesday - Friday 2 pm - 11:30 pm

Summary:

Inspects and tests materials and products for conformance to specifications by performing the duties described herein.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect products using gauges and visual assessment.
  • Select products for testing at specified stages; test for qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment needed for testing.
  • Generate spreadsheets for data collection.
  • Test incoming raw materials.
  • Establish and maintain a system to inspect all finished goods.
  • Perform quality examinations according to company standards and sampling criteria.
  • Inspect finished products for height, shape, color, and consistency using comparison samples and visual inspections.
  • Communicate inspection and testing results to supervisors and production personnel daily.
  • Follow safety regulations and wear PPE as trained.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or GED; or 3 years of experience in Quality Control in manufacturing; or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Accurate record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and standards.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work independently.

Language Ability: Ability to read and understand instructions, write simple correspondence, and present information effectively.

Math Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret measurement tools.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.

Work Environment:

Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, and electrical hazards. Noise levels are typically loud.

Physical Requirements:

Must frequently move items up to 80 pounds, inspect materials, and identify color variances. Must be able to move throughout workstations, ascend/descend steps, and work in tight spaces. Repetitive reaching, talking, and hearing are required.
