Job summary

TE Connectivity invites applicants for a Quality Inspector role in Hauppauge, NY. The position focuses on inspection and testing of materials, relays, and components to sustain a strong quality culture and ongoing improvements.

You will support Quality Engineers in root-cause investigations, process documentation, and RMA handling, reporting to the Supervisor of Quality and Manufacturing Engineering. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School Education or GED equivalency.
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience.
  • Highly organized and able to clearly communicate requirements, and partner with stakeholders to implement and/or improve processes.
  • Ability to identify potential problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and find solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision, but without neglecting teamwork.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as job pockets, diagrams, and operating procedures.
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains records according to TE Corporate Records Retention Policy and customers’ requirements.
  • Support training and expertise in the above-mentioned areas

Job Overview

Primarily responsible for executing a variety of activities concerning the inspection and quality assurance of materials, relays, and components. This position is critical to building, enabling, and sustaining systems that promote a strong quality culture and continuous improvement. This role will report to the Supervisor of Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Carry out analysis, inspection and/or tests to ensure the quality of products and components.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, first shift. Flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM, with end times between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM.

This position requires access to information that is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent residents, persons granted asylee status in the U.S., or persons admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High School Education or GED equivalency
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience
  • Highly organized and able to clearly communicate requirements, and partner with stakeholders to implement and/or improve processes.
  • Ability to identify potential problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and find solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision, but without neglecting teamwork.
  • Ability to break down and analyze information and recognize their relationship to one another.
  • Solid understanding of the following bodies of knowledge:

ISO 9001:2015 (preferred)

AS9100D (preferred)

IPC 610, JSTD (preferred)

  • Understanding of the key quality terms – definition, facts, methods, and principles.
  • Ability to evaluate proposed ideas, solutions, corrections compared to specifications.
  • Basic computer experience with writing and editing documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as job pockets, diagrams, and operating procedures.
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships, in different environments.
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish is a plus

Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $49,000– $73,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
