You will keep test equipment calibrated, prepare and analyze test data, maintain QMS documents and worksheets, and spot opportunities to strengthen process controls.

A day in the life

You start your shift by reviewing overnight quality alerts and checking calibration status of gauges. On the floor, you verify machine parameters and materials against work instructions, perform in-process checks between production stages, and support operators with clear guidance. When you encounter nonconforming material, you document the issue, initiate reports, and coordinate proper disposition. Before end of shift, you update Excel trackers for leadership and tidy your area to 5S standards.

  • Execute and document disposition of nonconforming materials (quarantine, rework, scrap, or return).

  • Develop and update Excel tracking sheets; analyze trends and prepare data for management reporting.
  • Conduct process audits to verify machine settings, materials, and operator adherence to work instructions.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, durometers, and other gauges to verify dimensional and functional accuracy.
  • Perform in-process verification at multiple stages of production to ensure specs are met.
  • Verify labeling accuracy on inbound materials and pre-shipment boxes.
  • Visually assess work areas for procedural and housekeeping compliance.
  • Inspect received materials for appearance, dimensions, and performance attributes.
  • Maintain a clean, uncluttered workspace in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Recommend and help implement safety and efficiency improvements to processes and equipment.
  • Support Engineering and Production teams with quality-related problem solving.
  • Maintain calibration status of test equipment and ensure accurate records.
  • Prepare test data, maintain QMS documents/worksheets, and identify areas for quality control improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
