Job summary

Schaefer Plastics Na Llc in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Manufacturing Quality Inspector for injection molding operations. You will inspect materials, in-process parts, and finished products, using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; quality certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of quality inspection/quality control in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and technical documents.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and math/measurement ability.
• Proficient in MS Office; able to learn digital quality systems.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and roll up to 500 pounds.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to verify specifications and quality standards.
• Use measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to confirm dimensional accuracy and functional performance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions accurately.
• Identify, label, and properly control non-conforming material in designated Quality Hold areas.
• Record inspection results and test findings clearly, accurately, and completely.
• Partner with production, warehouse, shipping, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and reduce scrap or rework.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to quality-focused decision-making on the production floor.
• Provide additional shift coverage as needed, with advance notice and supervisor approval.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Management.

Shift Schedule:
Shift is 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., operating 7 days per week. (2-2-3 Schedule)

Key Responsibilities

• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and math/measurement ability
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and ability to learn digital quality systems
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and roll up to 500 pounds
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is a plus
• Flexibility to support varying shifts and overtime as needed
