Job summary

A growing industrial manufacturer in Hendersonville, NC is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support quality initiatives in a highly engineered manufacturing environment.

The role involves partnering with production, engineering, and operations to troubleshoot quality issues, improve processes, reduce defects, and ensure products meet customer and engineering requirements. Strong experience in automotive/heavy industrial sectors is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.
• 3+ years of Quality/Manufacturing/Process Engineering experience.
• Experience in automotive, heavy industrial, power generation, aerospace, industrial equipment, or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
• Familiarity with 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, CAPA, and other quality tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on Quality Engineering support to manufacturing operations.
• Investigate production quality issues, defects, and nonconforming material.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Design Engineering, and other teams to improve product and process quality.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation, inspection requirements, control plans, and procedures.
• Analyze quality data and manufacturing trends to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
• Support process validation and new product introduction activities.
• Drive reduction of scrap, rework, defects, and customer quality issues.
• Participate in FMEA activities and manufacturing process reviews.
• Develop solutions to improve process capability and product consistency.
• Support internal and external quality audits as needed.
• Provide technical guidance to production personnel regarding quality standards and requirements.
• Champion continuous improvement and structured problem-solving throughout the manufacturing operation.
