Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America is seeking a Quality Systems Engineer to develop, govern and continuously improve quality systems across BBNA manufacturing operations. You will lead root cause analysis, audits, and corrective actions to reduce defects, improve process capability and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, 3+ years in manufacturing quality, and strong data analysis. Travel up to 50% will be needed to support multi-site operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required.
• Minimum three years of manufacturing, quality engineering, quality systems or industrial experience.
• Experience with quality management systems, auditing, nonconformance control and corrective action processes.
• Working knowledge of statistical process control, process capability analysis, inspection systems and measurement systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and data analysis skills.
• Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 50% of the time).

Responsibilities

• Provide quality engineering support across BBNA manufacturing operations and drive quality improvement initiatives.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to eliminate recurring quality issues.
• Support internal, customer and third-party audits with timely closure of findings.
• Develop and maintain quality metrics, dashboards and reporting for visibility into performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues.
• Coach and share best practices to raise overall quality capability across operations.
