Job summary
Zygo Corporation in Middlefield, CT is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support daily quality activities in a high-mix, low-volume setting. You will partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to strengthen process controls, perform data-driven analysis, and lead quality-improvement initiatives.
The role emphasizes root-cause investigation, corrective actions, and active involvement in NPI, production readiness, and audits, with a focus on delivering measurable quality improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in engineering with focus on quality/manufacturing.
- Experience with SPC, analysis, and process capability.
- Proven track record in quality or process-improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day quality engineering support to manufacturing operations.
- Improve process capability and robustness with Manufacturing and Engineering.
- Support containment, investigation, and resolution of in-process quality issues.
- Lead quality improvement projects delivering improvements in process capability, yield, reliability.
- Own and improve the site's SPC program including control strategy and charting.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support NPI, manufacturing transfers, and production readiness.
- Participate in audits and Lean/CI initiatives.
