Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop, govern, standardize and continually improve quality systems and engineering practices across manufacturing operations.

You will lead root cause analyses, CAPA, and supplier quality efforts to reduce defects, rework and warranty costs while supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, at least three years of related experience, and strong analytical,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline is required.
• Minimum three years of manufacturing, quality engineering, quality systems or industrial experience.
• Experience with quality management systems, auditing, nonconformance control and corrective action processes.
• Working knowledge of statistical process control, process capability analysis, inspection systems and measurement systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and data analysis skills.
• Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 50% of the time).

Responsibilities

• Develop, govern, standardize and continuously improve quality systems and quality-engineering practices across BBNA manufacturing operations.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to eliminate recurring quality issues.
• Support internal, customer and third-party audits and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Improve supplier quality performance by collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain enterprise quality metrics, dashboards and reporting systems.
