Job summary

RPC Company in Texas is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer to lead product and process quality on the manufacturing floor. You will oversee the Quality Control team, own the QMS, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to drive quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive quality experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Quality leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience with ISO 9001 and audits.
• Experience with blueprint reading, GD&T, inspection methods, CAPA.
• Experience in metal fabrication or similar manufacturing environments.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and develop the Quality Control team, coordinating inspection priorities with production schedules.
• Develop and maintain inspection plans, control plans, quality procedures, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.
• Review drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and customer quality requirements.
• Establish incoming, in-process, first-article, and final inspection requirements.
• Provide hands-on quality support to Production and Operations, including product disposition and resolution of manufacturing issues.
• Lead root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous-improvement initiatives using tools such as 5 Whys, fishbone, Pareto analysis, and CAPA.
• Analyze defects, scrap, rework, returns, process capability, and quality trends to identify sustainable improvements.
• Own and maintain the company's QMS, including document control, internal audits, corrective actions, management review, and quality records.
• Coordinate customer, supplier, registrar, and third-party audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Support new products, process changes, first-article inspections, process qualification, calibration, material traceability, and external testing as needed.
• Promote a strong, prevention-focused quality culture throughout the manufacturing operation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive quality experience in manufacturing, including hands‑on production support.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• Quality Control leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Experience administering or maintaining a formal QMS and supporting internal or external audits.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 principles and quality systems.
• Experience with blueprint reading, GD&T, inspection methods, measurement tools, calibration, material traceability, nonconformance, CAPA, and statistical/process analysis.
• Experience in metal fabrication, machining, welding, structural steel, industrial equipment, or similar manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with applicable AWS, ASME, ASTM, and customer quality standards is a plus.
• ASQ certifications and Lead/Internal Auditor training are preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

This position works in both office and active manufacturing environments and requires someone comfortable working directly with production teams to resolve issues and continuously improve quality.
