Job summary

Assurant, Inc. seeks a Quality Engineer to support the Quality and Operations Management System. The role involves coaching, training, and continuous improvement using standard quality tools, across all departments. Onsite at Lewisville, TX, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm.

Responsibilities include validating processes, performing data analyses, mapping processes, and leading CAPA/CI initiatives to improve capability and performance. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or related STEM field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience using quality programs and tools.
• Experience with 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma; certification a plus.
• Experience in process/testing/automation validation.
• Experience managing new product introduction.

Job description

The Quality Engineer will support the overall Quality and Operations Management System by reviewing performance and deliverables of the organization. Working with all departments towards solutions and continuous improvement. This position will also provide ongoing guidance, coaching, feedback, training, and development of in-house problem-solving programsand utilization of generally accepted Quality tools.

This is an onsite role at the Lewisville, TX DCC with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Validate process, system integration and testing methods (Gage R&R)
• Create and review data analysis and trending reports
• Process mapping/control points identification
• Meeting with members of the production team to offer recommendations and share results from internal audits or open investigations
• Analyzing, identifying, and implementing manufacturing and/or business process improvements which will improve capability and performance
• Provide manufacturing and system/process validation support.
• Experience in problem solving.
• Provide training to all personnel on Quality tools
• Map out Quality process flows and identify potential process and workflow improvements.
• Lead CAPA/CI initiative utilizing Quality tools to facilitate root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions and process improvements
• Ensure adherence to company policies and process standards, while maintaining employee morale.
• Create and utilize reports to accurately represent program metrics, tracking completion rates and percentages.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment for personnel to work in while ensuring all safety and environmental regulations are followed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in an Engineering discipline or a related field such as Quality, Operations/Business Management, Supply Chain, or a STEM discipline, plus 2 years of relevant/equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant/equivalent experience in use of Quality programs and tools.
• Experience with 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma with the ability to apply the same in a practical, effective fashion, certification in above a plus.
• Experience in process/testing/automation validation.
• Experience managing new product introduction.

• Knowledge of ISO 9000 and/or QS 9000 standards
