Job summary

Burkert USA Corp. is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop and maintain quality systems with emphasis on product returns, complaint management, and CAPA measures in a manufacturing setting.

You will apply DMAIC and 8D/5Why tools for root cause analysis, perform data-driven quality improvements, and drive ISO-aligned processes across receiving, inspection, and supplier audits. A Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of quality systems is required (statistics, reliability, sampling, and auditing).
• 1-2 years preferred in Quality Engineering or Technical Discipline
• Manufacturing environment experience
• Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems standards a plus
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus
• Lean Implementation in a production, warehousing and distribution environment a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written & verbal
• Proficient with SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task; Perform duties with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality systems aligned with ISO standards.
• Determine quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
• Enhance quality inspection process utilizing sampling plans and confidence levels.
• Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analyses.
• Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling.
• Root cause analysis and implementation of CAPA for quality improvement using DMAIC and 8D/5Why.
• Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
• Assist suppliers’ performance and conduct audits.

Develop and implement quality systems with an emphasis on product returns, complaint management, and overall root cause and corrective action measures to drive the CAPA, optimize new product development within a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties will be assigned as required)

• Responsible for Quality Management System inclusive of process and procedure development/implementation that aligns with ISO standards
• Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
• Enhance quality inspection process utilizing statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence
• Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests
• Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling
• Root cause analysis and implementation of CAPA for quality improvement related concerns utilizing DMAIC methodology and 8D/5Why tools.
• Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
• Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
• Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions
• Assist suppliers’ performance and conduct audits.
• Preparation of QA reports.
