Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Production Quality Engineer (PQE) for a leading precision manufacturing and engineering client in Fairfield, OH. This highly hands-on role conducts inspections on the shop floor and coordinates cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain.

The PQE will use FARO Arm and PolyWorks, interpret GD&T, read engineering drawings, and ensure conformance to AS9100/ISO 9001.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing quality (aerospace, defense, industrial manufacturing, turbines, rotating equipment, machining, welding, or fabrication environments).
• Experience with FARO Arm, Portable CMMs, or dimensional inspection equipment.
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 certified quality management system.
• Mechanical and/or electrical background with knowledge of mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
• Knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, and inspection methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections.
• Utilize FARO Arm technology and PolyWorks to verify dimensional conformance.
• Review engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, inspection results, material certifications, and quality documentation.
• Investigate quality issues, defects, and nonconforming products.
• Lead and support NCR, MRB, corrective action, and root cause investigations.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues directly on the production floor.
• Support and guide quality inspectors through inspection processes and requirements.
• Partner with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and quality outcomes.
• Support supplier quality activities, audits, and quality system compliance.
• Maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.

Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Production Quality Engineer (PQE) for a leading precision manufacturing and engineering client in Fairfield, OH. This position is fully onsite, Monday-Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm.

This is a highly hands-on, shop floor-focused role and not a desk-heavy quality position.

This individual will serve as a key liaison between Quality, Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain, ensuring products meet customer requirements and quality standards throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong inspection experience, hands-on experience with FARO Arm technology, a solid understanding of GD&T, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Experience working within AS9100 and/or ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environments is highly preferred.

Day-to-Day

Must-Haves

Nice-to-Haves

• PolyWorks experience (especially programming inspection routines)
• Gas turbine, power generation, or rotating equipment experience
• Supplier Quality experience (SCARs, supplier audits, performance tracking)
• MRB, RMA, and corrective action experience
• Autodesk Inventor or CAD experience
• Aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing experience
• Experience reviewing 2D drawings against 3D models

Compensation

$40.00 to $47.00 per hour; flexible for the right individual. Exact compensation may vary and will be based on experience level, education and skill set.
