Job summary

Parker Aerospace in Naples, Florida is seeking a senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive complex engineering projects within the Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division. You will plan, lead, and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet schedule, cost, and performance targets.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, CAD/CAM proficiency, and aerospace production know-how. You will mentor staff, interface with customers, and ensure best-in-class manufacturing execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering with eight or more years of related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and production engineering theories and Lean principles.
  • Experience with aerospace products and ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and cost estimates.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and coordinate across multiple teams.

SUMMARY:

Ensures timely and efficient completion of detailed engineering project phases or major projects to achieve division cost and customer service objectives. Plans, schedules, and coordinates efforts of the engineering staff or acts as an individual researcher or functional expert on specific projects with significant customer and business impact.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develops project goals and objectives to complete complex or major manufacturing engineering projects by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management. Ensures that projects meet schedule, cost results, and technical expectations through effective project leadership.
  • Applies and leads continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing operations in critical and/or high impact areas of production.
  • Frequent formal and informal customer interface to present program status; may propose and/or negotiate engineering, process, or material changes. Gains customer confidence in overall manufacturing support of customer programs.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning staffing and resources, and reviewing bids from outside contractors.
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates. Confirms product performance and/or improved operational capacity and efficiency by designing and conducting tests.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements. Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design specifications, and plan or schedule changes, and recommending actions to achieve performance to committed milestones. Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing trade and technical publications, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and/or participating in professional associations.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements (e.g. environmental, safety, etc.) by studying existing and new legislation, ensuring adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses. Analyzes proposed changes in methods and materials for cost and quality impacts.
  • Acts as consultant to management on major matters. Establishes goals and objectives required to complete projects. Identifies mentoring needs. Trains and mentors less experienced employees. May provide leadership to others in department or to ad-hoc teams.
  • Shares specialized knowledge with others; may serve as functional expert. Represents company on specific projects. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering field. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through eight or more years of increasingly responsible related experience. Society of Manufacturing Engineering (SME) or Mechanical Engineering (ASME) certification desired.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and production engineering theories, principles, practices, techniques and concepts and broad knowledge of other related engineering areas and general business operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aerospace industry products and ability to lead and implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of process analysis review and statistical process control. Ability to apply and integrate knowledge of other related engineering areas to own areas of expertise.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing plants. Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools. Ability to work effectively with CAD/CAM systems or other computer-aided manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to apply drafting and related machining systems to make recommendations for improved productivity.
  • Ability to work on complex technical problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors, solve a wide range of difficult problems in creative and effective ways, and coordinate across multiple teams.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical policies and recommend changes to procedures; effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management; respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain best prices and terms on products, materials, and services.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
