Job Description
Our Manufacturing Engineers are critical members of plant core teams, including the Plant Managers, Production Controllers, Manufacturing Operators, Finance Department, and Quality Department. They are responsible for Product and Process Development and lead new product launches within our plants. Their impact on our P&L is significant through on-time, quality-focused launches and leading continuous improvement projects that drive KPI results. Effective communication with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Customer Service, and customers is essential.
Responsibilities
- Improve manufacturing efficiency and resolve production and quality issues.
- Use lean techniques to reduce waste and enhance manufacturing performance.
- Collaborate with production personnel to troubleshoot concerns.
- Support the Quality Department in addressing issues and conducting root cause analysis related to customer concerns.
- Manage changes to engineering prints, standards, and processes.
Continuous Improvement
- Work cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Finance to identify and improve key performance indicators.
- Maintain and develop engineering standards.
- Share best practices across all plants.
- Collaborate with engineering teams in all metal fastener plants.
New Product Quotation, Feasibility & Launch
- Assist with new product launches, including APQP, from quoting to quality records and launch.
- Drive timelines and resolve issues with cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate with sales, engineering, accounting, and vendors for information gathering.
- Develop manufacturing prints, controls, and operational limits for new products.
- Create 2D/3D models for tools used in manufacturing.
- Develop process routing and bills of materials for new business.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 3-4 years of manufacturing experience, especially in product and tooling development for metal manufacturing (fasteners).
- Experience in the automotive industry is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of APQP or similar product development processes.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience supporting customer service, manufacturing, or engineering functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications; basic knowledge of metal manufacturing.
- Strong organizational, document management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion, adapt to changes, multi-task, and maintain accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented mindset.
- Personal accountability and drive to exceed goals.
Compensation: $83,000 - $115,000
