Job description

Manufacturing Program Manager
Job Description:

The Manufacturing Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and tracking the key initiatives required to scale Harris manufacturing and supply chain capabilities. This role functions as a central portfolio management resource, helping leadership maintain visibility, accountability, and progress across multiple workstreams, including facility startups, manufacturing modifications, fulfillment center setup, process improvements, data integration, purchasing forecasting, and fabrication estimating.

As production scales, this role will also help convert manufacturing opportunities into actionable production plans by coordinating the handoff from business development, estimating, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing operations.

This role does not own the technical solution, manufacturing operations, or supply chain functions, but ensures the right work is being planned, tracked, coordinated, and completed. This role serves as the coordination and accountability function for manufacturing and supply chain scale‑up initiatives while ensuring opportunities transition effectively into production execution.

Core Responsibilities
Portfolio and Program Management
  • Help translate strategic initiatives into actionable plans with defined owners, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Maintain portfolio‑level visibility across manufacturing and supply chain initiatives, including facility setup, process improvement, systems, and operational readiness workstreams.
  • Develop/manage integrated project plans, milestones, activities, risks, and executive summaries.
  • Provide leadership with clear visibility into status, dependencies, risks, decisions needed, and accountability gaps.
  • Help ensure teams are aligned on priorities, timelines, owners, and next steps.
Facility & Infrastructure Coordination
  • Support coordination of manufacturing facility initiatives, including greenfield setup, plant modifications, equipment planning, and fulfillment center development.
  • Track cross‑functional workstreams related to facility readiness, including layout, equipment, staffing, procurement, systems, and operational launch requirements.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing leadership, plant managers, industrial engineering, purchasing, facilities, and other stakeholders to maintain progress.
Cross‑Functional Coordination and Accountability
  • Support production readiness by coordinating the transition from opportunity development to manufacturing execution.
  • Facilitate recurring coordination meetings across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, estimating, business development, and operations.
  • Hold teams accountable to committed actions, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Identify interdependencies across workstreams and help resolve or elevate conflicts.
Reporting, Metrics & Communication
  • Develop clear reporting for initiative status, milestones, risks, blockers, and upcoming decisions.
  • Support dashboard development and data visibility efforts in partnership with BI teams.
  • Communicate progress in a concise, leadership‑ready format.
CrossFunctional Collaboration

This role works closely with:

  • Division and Business Unit Leadership
  • Manufacturing Business Development & Estimating
  • Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations
  • Construction & Service/Building Automation Operations, where applicable
  • Industrial Engineering & Product Engineering
  • Facilities / Real Estate
  • Technology and Data teams

This role coordinates the work across functions, but does not replace the functional owners.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience managing cross‑functional programs, projects, or operational initiatives.
  • Strong project management discipline, including schedules, milestones, action tracking, risk management, and executive reporting.
  • Ability to coordinate across business development, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex moving parts into clear status, issues, and decisions.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where processes, systems, and roles are evolving.
  • Ability to influence, coordinate, and drive execution across multiple functions without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, dashboards, spreadsheets, and reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, industrialized construction, supply chain, or fabrication environments.
  • Experience supporting facility startups, operations, or process improvement.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing planning, production, procurement, or data/reporting workflows.
What This Role Is (and Is Not)
This role is:
  • The coordination and accountability engine for manufacturing and supply chain initiatives.
  • A role supporting leadership across sales, facilities, systems, processes, and production.
  • Focused on visibility, alignment, follow‑through, and execution discipline.
  • A bridge between strategic initiatives and operational execution.
This role is NOT:
  • A traditional construction project manager.
  • A technology project manager.
  • Responsible for directly designing processes, engineering products, or running production.
