In this position...
The candidate is responsible for Launch and Production support of Wheel Alignment and headlamp aim equipment for all North American Ford Assembly plants
Vehicle Operations Manufacturing Engineering is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants. The Manufacturing Engineer End of Line Wheel Alignment Advanced Driver Assist Systems candidate will be a part of this team and be responsible for the following:

Qualifications

You'll have...
•Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing), or Similar Technical degree
•At least 5-7 years in the upper body functional areas
•Background in Wheel Alignment Headlamp Aim and Driver Assist Technologies, software development/implementation or product validation
•Working knowledge of diagnostics and vehicle repair
•Familiarity with computer HW, SW and wireless technologies
•Strong computer Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Web Based reporting systems)
•Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills
•Understanding of PFMEA and Failure Mode Avoidance principles

Even better, you may have…
•Experience in all program phases from PSC to Launch
•One major launch program (UP / UN > 4 ) or discipline equivalent
•Bachelor’s degree in electrical and mechanical engineering, IT or Computer Science
•Automotive manufacturing experience / supplier project management skills
•Product development experience with Electrical systems, EDS, or module design
•Industrial Controls Design Architecture
•Familiarity with IT plant infrastructure (network design and server applications)
•Working knowledge of diagnostics and vehicle repair
•Familiarity with computer HW, SW and wireless technologies

•Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Operations (Assembly or Powertrain), Software Development working knowledge

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Lead Wheel Alignment, Headlamp Aim, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) systems implementation and launch activities from supplier buyoff through post vehicle launch activities and follow up for all Ford North America vehicle programs.
  • Consolidate Wheel Alignment, Headlamp Aim, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) requirements from cross functional teams and translate them into system and process requirements and coordinate installation, commissioning, and support throughout launch.
  • Ensure compliance to the GVOSS (Global Vehicle Operations Structured Standards) and Ergonomic standards for EOL test system installations.
  • Review and implement new WAHA-ADAS concepts and designs.
  • Develop and implement improvements to WAHA-ADAS SW and HW using data from the EOL Dashboard / Report Logic Reporting Systems.
  • Assist in preparation of NMP management reviews; perform data collection to support the presentation.
  • Support capital project teams to develop capital appropriations requests and manage the projects from supplier tooling buyoff through commissioning.
  • Support costing activities for WAHA-ADAS test implementation and find acceptable cost reduction opportunities.
  • Support change control to evaluate product change impact on test equipment costs and labor.
  • Provide onsite prototype build support at North American Manufacturing Assembly Plants. Note: Travel within US, Canada and Mexico for installation, launch supportand issue resolution may require up to 70% of dedicated time onsite.
  • Lead risk assessment for software, and hardware changes.
  • Write functional descriptions for SW and HW modifications and assist in writing SOW’s.
    Coordinate all pre-launch WAHA-ADAS validation events from DCV through MP2.
  • Assist plant & implementation teams in resolving performance issues.
  • Lead daily trouble shooting; coordinate cross-functional resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated.
  • Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel and plant repairmen when required.
    Determine accurate validation methods.
  • Provide cost and feasibility studies to determine impact of new models for plant installations.
