Tempe Milk Plant in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee GMP-compliant production, supervise staff, and ensure quality and safety standards are met on a fast-paced dairy line. The role requires hands-on leadership, Lean experience, and strong communication across cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in dairy or food production supervision, proficiency with MS Office, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent (degree preferred).
  • Strong preference for Dairy experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a food production environment.
  • 1+ years experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong leadership to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
  • Ability to manage and develop associates.
  • MS Office proficiency (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and ability to learn other apps.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Production Oversight: Ensure GMP compliance in all production processes; monitor cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Staff Supervision: Lead, supervise, and support production associates; deliver performance evaluations; issue corrective actions.
  • Quality Control: Train, monitor, and enforce quality standards; rectify issues affecting product quality.
  • Inventory Management: Track, manage, and audit raw materials and finished goods; coordinate with supply chain to optimize stock.
  • Process Optimization: Identify improvement opportunities; implement changes to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols; conduct regular safety training.
  • Communication: Collaborate with site cross-functional partners; relay detailed information clearly.
  • Training and Development: Train new associates; provide ongoing skill development.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve production issues; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP; update procedures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance; address issues to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain production records and generate management reports.

Summary

Tempe Milk Plant 1115 W, Alameda Drive, Tempe, AZ 85282

Shift 1: Hours 4 am - 12:30 pm Monday through Friday Must be open to Saturday work and overtime.

Candidates who are submitted at the higher end of the range need to superstars with awesome experience.

Responsibilities
  • Production Oversight:

    Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all production processes.

    Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.

  • Staff Supervision:

    Lead, supervise, and support production associates.

    Compose and deliver performance evaluations. Corrective action notices and provide constructive feedback.

  • Quality Control:

    Train, monitor, and quality control standards.

    Address and rectify issues affecting product quality.

  • Inventory Management:

    Track, manage, and audit raw materials and finished goods inventory.

    Coordinate with the supply chain to optimize stock levels.

  • Process Optimization:

    Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose scalable solutions.

    Implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Safety Compliance:

    Enforce and promote safety protocols.

    Conduct regular safety training for production personnel.

  • Communication:

    Effectively collaborate with site cross-functional partners. (e.g., quality, logistics, maintenance).

    Relay information accurately, in detail, and respectfully effectively to ensure smooth operations.

  • Training and Development:

    Train new production associates.

    Provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Problem Resolution:

    Address and resolve production-related issues promptly.

    Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

    Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards. (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.)

    Keep abreast of industry regulations and update procedures accordingly.

  • Equipment Maintenance:

    Coordinate maintenance schedules for production equipment.

    Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.

  • Documentation:

    Maintain accurate production records and reports.

    Generate reports for management on production metrics.

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent. Degree preferred.
  • Strong preference for Dairy experience
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in a food production environment. Food manufacturing experience is a must have.
  • One (1) or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong leadership background – ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
  • Ability to manage and develop associates.
  • Strong skills Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.
  • Ability to lift upto 60 LBS
