Description

Production Shift Supervisor Job: The production shift supervisor is responsible for managing shift employees within a specified manufacturing department. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

Requirements

Production Shift Supervisor Job Duties:

  1. Manage the activities of the production floor, under the direction of the business unit manager and follow established procedures and approved processes.
  2. Supervise departmental production operations.
  3. Strictly follow the process parameters specified by the process engineers.
  4. Organize the team to meet production targets per production schedule.
  5. Ensure the products meet quality standards.
  6. Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental shift activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion.
  7. Monitor the condition of production equipment; coordinate repairs with maintenance technicians.
  8. Ensure the completion of the operators’ portion of equipment maintenance as specified by the maintenance department.
  9. Complete and provide daily reports regarding Safety, Quality, product quantity, and types.
  10. Cooperate with HR and the production manager to train, monitor, develop, and discipline team members.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized production floor.
  12. Accept and complete any other relevant tasks assigned by the Company.

Education / Training:

  1. Associates Degree required.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred.
  3. 5 - 7 Years of experience within a manufacturing environment required.
  4. 3 – 5 Years previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions:

  1. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  2. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  3. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  5. This job is performed under some temperature extremes, elevated platforms, and some hazardous conditions.
  6. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  7. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
