Job summary

LHH is seeking a motivated Buyer to join our clients’ growing team in Schaumburg, IL. This role executes daily purchasing activities, manages supplier relationships, tracks orders, and ensures timely material delivery to support manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in purchasing/procurement or supply chain and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working with Operations, Warehouse, Logistics, Finance, and suppliers to optimize inventory and procurement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 2–4 years purchasing, procurement, materials, inventory, or supply chain experience required.
• Experience with Business Central or similar ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and OneNote.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders based on inventory requirements and purchasing parameters.
• Review, send, and confirm purchase orders with suppliers.
• Monitor open orders and proactively follow up to ensure on-time delivery.
• Expedite critical materials and communicate delays or shortages to internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, lead-time, and item information within the ERP system.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding pricing, product availability, delivery schedules, and order changes.
• Resolve purchasing, receiving, shipping, and invoice discrepancies.
• Assist with freight quotes, shipment coordination, and logistics support.
• Partner with Operations, Warehouse, Logistics, and Finance teams to support production and inventory requirements.
• Prepare purchasing reports, inventory analysis, and procurement metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance, purchasing accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Support additional procurement and supply chain initiatives as assigned.
