Job summary

TE Connectivity Webster, NY is seeking a production technician to fabricate fiber optic assemblies, test cable sets, and ensure quality standards are met on-site.

You will operate automatic equipment, perform measurements, maintain welding platform, and collaborate with a team to deliver reliable, high-quality fiber optic products.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, optical engineering or technology or related work experience.
  • High school diploma required; AA degree preferred.
  • 2-4+ years of related manufacturing or process technician experience.
  • Proven attention to detail and quality orientation.
  • Manual dexterity for fine and precise handwork.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience operating CNC or automated production equipment (preferred).
  • Experience handling fiber optics and opto-mechanical assembly (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Operate automatic production equipment for fiber optic connector manufacturing
  • Collect measurements of fiber optic assemblies
  • Test cable assemblies using standard and specialized electro-optical devices
  • Terminate fiber optic cables
  • Routine maintenance of a fiber optic welding platform – cleaning and adjusting
  • Offer feedback to enhance performance of the welding platform
  • Work collaboratively with others in a team environment

Job Overview

Responsible for production of fiber optic assemblies and ensure quality specifications are met. Assembly of fiber optic cables using welded fiber optic arrays. Testing of cable assemblies using standard and specialized electro-optical devices. (Required on-site training)

Job Requirements

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $57,300 - $86,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
