Job summary

First Solar Inc. is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support installation, qualification, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment. You will work to improve throughput, yield, and product performance on the production line.

The role requires a high school diploma, technical experience or an associate degree, and strong English communication. You will develop procedures, train production staff, and ensure compliance with safety and process control standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Associate degree or higher in a technical discipline or 2+ years machine/mechanic experience or 1 year First Solar technical experience or 6 months as Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician at First Solar.
Safety first mindset and general electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge.
Self-directed with ability to work with minimal supervision.
Good written and oral communications in English.
Able to troubleshoot and solve problems on the manufacturing line.
Able to handle administrative as well as technical tasks.

Responsibilities

Solve day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
Identify and implement yield and product performance improvements.
Develop methods to assign causes to yield excursions.
Set up and maintain gauges and ensure processes run to the Process Control Plan.
Respond to SPC alarms and bring processes back into control.
Conduct planned process experiments, collect data, and report results.
Train production staff and update internal documentation.
Interface with internal associates and supplier reps as required.
