Job summary

Stonhard in New Jersey seeks a Cross-Functional Engineer to oversee projects, refine processes, and resolve facility issues across multiple sites, potentially supporting Indiana operations. The role combines process engineering and project management to improve throughput, safety, and reliability.

The candidate will analyze production data, lead capital projects, partner with maintenance and engineering, and apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• B.S. Engineering in a relevant discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Chemical).
• Knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures in manufacturing.
• Experience with capital project implementation and management.
• Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking for data-driven decisions.
• High proficiency in Excel.
• Proficiency in Windows, Outlook, and AutoCAD.
• Strong written, communication and presentation skills in group or high-level settings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects, create or update processes, and resolve facility issues.
• Lead process engineering and lean initiatives to improve manufacturing performance, safety, and efficiency.
• Serve as SME for key equipment and analytical tools; train staff on new practices.
• Analyze operations with time studies, bottleneck analysis, and process hazard analyses using Lean/Six Sigma tools.
• Manage capital projects from evaluation through delivery with purchasing coordination.
