Job summary

Guill Tool & Engineering in Rhode Island is seeking a Manufacturing Process Planner to develop and maintain manufacturing process plans, routings, and related documentation. You will translate engineering requirements into practical processes and ensure proper documentation within the ERP/MRP system.

The role collaborates with Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement, and suppliers to optimize manufacturability and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production planning, process planning, or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Epicor.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate manufacturing records.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize manufacturing process plans and production routings based on drawings, specs, customer requirements, and methods.
• Review engineering blueprints and GD&T to determine operations and requirements.
• Prepare and maintain work instructions, manufacturing documentation, and process specs for production.
• Coordinate with Production to resolve routing, process, material, documentation, and scheduling issues.
• Support Procurement by identifying material, outside processing, supplier, and other requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and outside service providers as needed.
• Work with Engineering to evaluate manufacturability and implement changes into processes.
• Support Quality in maintaining AS9100D, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, and waste reduction.
• Analyze manufacturing processes and routing to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Assist with estimating labor and manufacturing requirements and provide input on costs and feasibility.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings with Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement, and Management.
