Job summary

National Gypsum Company is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Intern for a paid summer program starting May 2027. You will gain hands-on experience across production, quality control, process improvement, and safety protocols in a dynamic manufacturing environment, with exposure to multiple departments and leadership learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in engineering, business, or manufacturing.
• Strong coursework in manufacturing processes or operations management.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Travel may be required up to 10% per internship period.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day manufacturing operations under guidance of experienced professionals.
• Participate in production and manufacturing activities to gain practical experience.
• Collaborate with safety, quality, and production on concerns and opportunities.
• Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting process enhancements.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all associates.
• Document and analyze data related to production and quality metrics, efficiency and performance.
• Engage in training sessions and workshops to expand knowledge of manufacturing processes, technologies, team growth, and leadership skills.
• Shadow and learn problem-solving methods from various management roles or departments.
