Job summary

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern for a Summer Internship in Kokomo, Indiana. You will support process development for power electronics proto builds and collaborate with the proto operations group to build early units and define the process.

The role requires CAD experience (Solidworks/NX), familiarity with rapid prototyping and 3D printing, and strong communication skills. Assistance with automation and equipment qualification is included.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or B average at hire date.
• Knowledge of equipment operations – electronics and mechanical assembly processes.
• Experience with CAD tools (Solidworks, NX or similar).
• Experience with rapid prototype processing and 3D printing tools.

Responsibilities

• Design fixtures and methods for power electronics assemblies.
• Run process studies to prove process capabilities on key attributes.
• Develop leak test programs and perform measurement system evaluation.
• Collaborate with design team on design for manufacturability issues.

Job Purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern in our Summer Internship Program.

The Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern will support manufacturing process development for power electronics Proto builds and work with Proto operations group to build early units and define and document the process.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Fixtures and methods for power electronics assemblies
• Run process studies to prove process capabilities on key product attributes such as adhesive dispense and screwdriving
• Develop Leak test programs and conduct Measurement System evaluation
• Work with product design team on Design for Manufacturability issues
• Assist with development of new process technologies including automation of assembly steps
• Support machine qualification for series manufacturing equipment

What We Are Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or be a graduate from an accredited college
• GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or B average, upon initial hire date
• Knowledge and experience with equipment operations - electronics assembly and mechanical assembly processes
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with Solidworks, NX or similar CAD tools
• Experience with rapid prototype processing and 3D printing tools

Salary Range

$17.00 - $28.65 / hour
