Manufacturing Process Engineer
Global CPG company needs a Manufacturing Process Engineer responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes, supporting quality and process monitoring, and providing leadership to associates.
Location: About an hour south of Atlanta. Relocation assistance available.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management, technicians, and operators to improve manufacturing processes, reduce cycle times, optimize production, maximize throughput, increase quality, and minimize scrap.
- Create and maintain engineering/process documentation such as molding specifications, Process Flow diagrams, PFMEAs, etc.
- Establish setup and processing parameters based on material and machine capabilities.
- Develop molding procedures for consistent processing across shifts.
- Monitor and review daily production efficiencies with the Production Manager.
- Conduct design of experiments and capability studies.
- Document capital equipment justification.
- Oversee lab and process technicians, testing results, procedures, and overall quality programs.
- Lead root cause investigations for quality issues.
- Coordinate responses to internal and external quality concerns.
- Manage NSF audits and GMP standards compliance.
- Address and report safety issues promptly, maintaining an excellent safety record.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, including process control and quality inspection.
- Leadership experience managing and leading direct reports in manufacturing.
- Continuous Improvement experience is required.
- SPC Gain Seeker experience is preferred.
- Food Safety / GMP experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in paper science or paper making is a plus.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with PI systems (digital EOT systems).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
