Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Michigan to plan, design, and supervise manufacturing processes for assembly, testing, and production of goods.

The role focuses on documenting procedures, process improvements, and implementing control techniques on the shop floor. You will collaborate with engineering and suppliers to ensure efficient, cost-effective methods while maintaining zero-defect quality and compliant production practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science; graduate degree preferred.
• Engineering in a manufacturing field.
• 3–5 years OEM MRP/ERP system build, implementation, and support experience; automotive industry preferred.
• Ability to grasp modern technology quickly.
• Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio).
• Excellent communication skills (English – written and oral).
• Excellent time management and work organizational (prioritization) skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting manufacturing processes.
• Developing and implementing process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
• Analyzing manufacturing process flows for quality, cost reduction and throughput.
• Collaborating with design engineering regarding tooling and production methods.
• Coordinating with vendors for specifications, equipment, parts and materials.
• Estimating staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs for operational decisions.
• Providing technical training for employees in the production department.
• Designing manufacturing processes for enhancements, changes, and new products with low defect levels and costs.
• Providing engineering support in production to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Supporting company policies, goals and good manufacturing practices.
