AJM Packaging Corporation, a leading Michigan-based manufacturer of paper products, seeks a Manufacturing Process Engineer to optimize equipment performance, improve processes and drive uptime in a fast-paced plant environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to plant operations. Requires a mechanical/industrial engineering background and 1–5 years of experience; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field.
• 1–5 years hands-on manufacturing experience with equipment/machinery improvements (internships count).
• Experience with AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel and shop floor systems preferred.
• Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience preferred; strong project management and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and complete manufacturing, process and machinery projects focused on optimization, reliability and quality at the source.
• Apply Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma and Lean principles; develop SOPs and visual aids to improve flow.
• Conduct feasibility studies for paper conversion machinery and related equipment.
• Analyze layout, methods and MTBF/MTBR to boost efficiency, quality and cost reduction.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve equipment reliability; use CMMS for diagnostics.
