Job summary

Polaris Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to establish and implement cost-effective manufacturing methods supporting safe, high-quality, and efficient production. You will coordinate improvements, collaborate with cross-functional teams, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

The role offers leadership to technicians and emphasizes manufacturability, quality, and cost outcomes in a dynamic production environment.

Qualifications

  • BS in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes and production systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods, labor studies, process documentation, tooling, fixturing, and production standards.
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD, Creo, and SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of statistical process control (SPC).
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and prints preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manual and automated manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Analyze and evaluate manufacturing methods, labor utilization, workstation layouts, and production standards to drive operational efficiency.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and support make-versus-buy evaluations, capital equipment studies, and budget planning activities.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to improve operational performance and reduce waste.
  • Create, maintain, and update process documentation, work instructions, specifications, and manufacturing standards.
  • Define tooling and fixturing requirements, coordinate with suppliers on procurement and modifications, and support tooling validation activities.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment issues, provide solutions to production challenges, and minimize downtime during improvement projects and product changes.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, assembly, fabrication, paint, and new product engineering teams to improve manufacturability, quality, and production readiness.
  • Review product and process designs and provide recommendations to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Support model year changes, new product introductions, and production launch activities.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to process technicians and other technical team members as assigned.
  • Assess line-down situations and make timely decisions to restore production operations safely and effectively.
