Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for deposition equipment support in Perrysburg, OH. You will install and qualify new equipment, troubleshoot production issues, and drive process improvements to meet throughput and yield targets.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline with 3+ years of First Solar experience, or 6+ years in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in engineering with no experience required; practical experience preferred.
• Certifications/experience can be used in lieu of degree; must show skills in peer training and data analysis.
• Understands and can apply Statistical Data Analysis
• Understands metrology and measurement best practices
• Good oral and written communications skills; ability to write manufacturing documentation
• Understands and can apply DOE, SPC, and DMAIC methods
• Ability to work with minimal supervision; general Electrical/Mechanical knowledge

Responsibilities

• Install and qualify new equipment
• Troubleshoot day-to-day manufacturing issues on the production line
• Identify and implement system improvements to achieve throughput, yield and product performance goals
• Design and execute planned process experiments, collect and analyze data and report results
• Maintain and develop process control plans and standard operating procedures
