Job description

Position Overview

The successful candidate will improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) across production operations by increasing efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. This individual will develop and implement process strategies, coordinate process resources, optimize existing manufacturing processes, and support reliability-centered maintenance practices. The candidate will demonstrate Mustad values by working respectfully and collaboratively with colleagues to deliver quality products and support organizational success.

Essential Job Functions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • The successful candidate will provide supervisors and staff with technical support related to 3D CAD modeling and drawings, robotics, closed-die hot forging, machine-shop operations, and related manufacturing processes. The candidate will share best practices and evaluate proposed process machinery by preparing return-on-investment analyses and recommendations.

  • Conducts and/or participates in design reviews for new products and new process projects. Supports R&D in integrating new technologies and machinery into the manufacturing environment.
  • Assist in assessment of existing manufacturing methods and research new technologies for improving the capabilities of current processes.
  • Performs risk analyses, designs and tests processes, creates reports to convey results and outcomes; troubleshoots and resolves or suggests resolution for process concerns.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates standardized operating instructions including data analysis for supporting the decision-making process.
  • Improve all electromechanical processes integrated with robotics through zero failure analysis and other improvement techniques

  • The successful candidate will have Lean or Six Sigma training or certification and will demonstrate the ability to apply statistical methods when evaluating manufacturing processes and improvement projects.
  • The successful candidate will have experience establishing and improving condition-monitoring and reliability programs using equipment history, failure data, and performance indicators such as MTBF, MTTR, and planned maintenance effectiveness to optimize maintenance tasks and prevent recurring failures.
  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading root cause failure analyses and defect-elimination initiatives for chronic or high-consequence equipment failures, translating findings into corrective actions and confirming sustained improvement through reliability metrics.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned
