Job summary

Graphic Packaging International is seeking a Manufacturing Production Process Engineer to design, develop, and implement production processes for efficient mass manufacturing. You will optimize equipment layouts, define production sequences, and troubleshoot process problems to improve throughput.

The role requires experience with DCS/PLC systems, HMI displays, and documenting control systems. A BS/BA in engineering or computer science and 1–3 years in industrial maintenance are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Computer Science or Engineering, related field or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• 1-3 years experience in an industrial maintenance organization; paper industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DCS and PLC concepts and application.
• Configuration and troubleshooting experience with DCS/PLC systems and their connected HMIs.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills; proactive problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Support daily and breakdown maintenance activities, troubleshooting DCS, QCS, and PLC systems and their I/O, HMI displays, and field devices.
• Provide process control engineering and configuration resources for capital projects.
• Support process control systems after hours and on rotating on-call duty.
• Review and create documentation for new and existing systems: loop sheets and logic.
• Monitor control system reliability and process variability; lead software upgrades to mill DCS systems.
• Develop preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures; ensure system health via diagnostics.
• Collaborate with corporate and local IT groups; ensure compliant production processes.
