MANUFACTURING POLISHER

LOCATION

Hermitage, PA

COMPANY

Ellwood is a non-union, employee focused manufacturing company that since 1910 has been a leader in the manufacturing of crankshafts for key industries such as stationary power, locomotive, marine, oil and gas.

JOB SUMMARY

In accordance with established specifications, this position sets up and polishes crankshafts.

SALARY

$18/hr - commensurate with experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Measure and prepare final dimensions of finished crankshafts.
• Identify and make required adjustments with the correct abrasive material to bring the crankshaft to final product dimension and finish, including lapping, belt polishing, benching, and hand working.
• Loads and unloads machine with aid of an overhead crane.
• Install counterweights as needed.
• Lubricates machines, checks and fills reservoirs, etc. on a daily basis.
• Maintains working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
• Reports defective material to inspection immediately.
• Observes all safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous manufacturing, assembly or general laborer experience a plus
• Mechanical skills and experience using measurement tools such as micrometers and snap gauges a plus
• Experience reading blueprints a plus
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs
  
• High school diploma or GED
