General Scope of Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring that the plant's systems and equipment are functioning properly and efficiently. This includes planning, designing, installing, testing, troubleshooting, and improving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems. Plans and coordinates activities concerned with the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery throughout the facility. Ensures the facility complies with relevant regulations and conducts regular checkups to verify the machinery and operations are safe.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe operations of the plant, equipment, and people.
- Function as a member of Operation Business Team (OBT) for the Clinton site.
- Oversees the site’s maintenance department.
- Ensure the facility operates within regulatory agencies (SC DHEC, OSHA, etc.) and adjust procedures, modifies recordkeeping, lab testing, reporting, etc. to maintain compliance.
- Implement and optimize programs such as preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and continuous equipment improvement to eliminate unplanned downtime.
- Assist in the development, implementation and management of the annual capital and annual major expense budgets.
- Participate and recommend in purchasing of new equipment.
- Develop relationships with OEM’s and be familiar with applicable new technology.
- Set goals and develop plans for equipment reliability improvements.
- Prepare and revises chemical, material, and service contract specifications, reviews bids, recommends awarding of contracts, and acts as project manager representative of contracts.
- Oversee contractors and maintenance vendors in their day-to-day operations.
- Participate in the long-range planning, organization, and direction of activities relating to the operation and improvements to the plant to maximize performance while minimizing cost and environmental impact.
Reporting Relationships:
Direct: Reports to Site Leader
Coordination: Works closely with Manufacturing, HR, and CIT to achieve site goals
Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to work with and lead a Maintenance team
- Excellent analytical troubleshooting skills
- Results oriented.
- CAD knowledge and experience
Education/Certifications:
- College Graduate, 4-year degree in Engineering required and five+ years of experience working in an engineering role in a manufacturing facility.
Physical Requirements:
- Capacity for manual handling tasks, regardless of weight.
- Flexibility to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
- A willingness to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
- Ability to sit/stand at a desk, and in meetings as needed.
- Walking throughout the manufacturing facility and office area.
- Ability to wear safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and earplugs while in manufacturing area.
