A prominent recruiting agency seeks a Controller responsible for all accounting and financial operations within the company. The role involves leading accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and working closely with management to guide financial strategy. Candidates should possess a BS in Accounting, extensive experience, and strong leadership skills.
Job Description
Controller will be responsible for leading all activities related to accounting and financial needs for the company. Work closely with all departments to achieve the goals and objectives of the company. Responsible for directing and controling all accounting and financial functions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform accounting functions and prepare monthly and quarterly reports for all internal and external needs.
· Managing and directing the time for the Staff Accountant position.
· Oversee Plant Accounting Staff in performance of tasks: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and salaried payroll.
· Analyze and invest available corporate, and pension funds to maximize return acceptable risk levels. This is joint responsibility with Company President. Participate in quarterly review meetings with brokers. Secure Online statements from brokerage accounts and give to CPA firm for monthly investment journal entries.
· Serve as advisor to Human Resource Manager on 401K and Pension Plan administration. Also Group Health and Workers Compensation.
· Risk Management: Review Company Insurance Coverages for adequate coverages. Negotiate annual renewal coverages and rates.
· Observe compliance with all company policies and practices.
· Work with Outside CPA firm to insure Compliance with Federal and State taxes and reporting requirements. Coordinate Outside Audit.
· Special projects and analysis as requested by the President.
· Responsible for Corporate Banking Relationships, Line of Credit, and loan covenants and reporting responsibilities.
· Complete Tax Abatement applications and present before City Council.
· Cost System: Periodically Update Machine Center Overhead and Labor Rate.
Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor of Science Degree with emphasis in Accounting. MBA and or CPA certification desirable.
· Ten plus years’ experience as Controller in this field preferably manufacturing.
· Previous Management experience required.
· Computer literacy.
· Investigative skills.
· Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
· Assists President in identifying needs of company including personal needs.
· Employee must be able to verbally explain company Quality Policy and ISO Quality Management Systems.
