Carpenter Co. in Elkhart, Indiana, is seeking a Plant Accountant to oversee product-line accounting, prepare monthly P&L analyses, and provide cost controls across departments. This role reports to the Senior Cost Accountant and requires GAAP knowledge, SAP experience preferred, and strong Excel skills.

You will collaborate with corporate and plant teams, handle journal entries, and support production finance while traveling up to 10% as needed. Excellent benefits and stability offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with Accounting Focus.
• 2+ years of accounting or costing experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to travel to plant locations up to 10%.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment.

Responsabilités

• Verify accuracy of department financial statements on a monthly basis.
• Prepare journal entries as needed to support the product line.
• Analyze and maintain quoting and production materials for consumer product operations.
• Prepare monthly scheduling that analyzes the performance of various product lines.
• Prepare monthly P&L analysis for review by management.
• Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures under the direction of the Senior Cost Accountant.
• Prepare schedules for corporate distribution.
• Ad hoc projects as required.
