Job summary

The Carlstar Group is seeking a production operator at our Clinton, TN facility. This role operates manufacturing equipment to meet product specifications and throughput targets, prep materials, and assist with material movement as needed.

You will follow standard work, handle inspection, and support safety and quality standards. The position requires a High School diploma or GED and preferably 1 year in manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year in manufacturing/distribution operation preferred.
  • Must read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy manufacturing equipment to produce materials to specification requirements.
  • Learn and follow standard work for all areas as assigned.
  • Evaluate products through visual and dimensional inspection techniques to ensure conformance to tolerance and specifications.
  • Organize, load and move in process materials and finished products as required to maintain expected efficiencies.
  • Abide by all safety and quality specifications.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles
  • Check computer for production schedule and requirements for run(s)
  • Set-up the machine according to specifications.
  • Responsible for cleaning and some maintenance of the machine.
  • Enter information into MRP system as required
  • Recognize when routine adjustments are necessary and identify errors at the earliest possible stage to minimize production rework
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Perform additional production or manufacturing tasks as assigned
