Job Title: Manufacturing Operator I

Salary Range (Base): $16.50/hr - $22/hr

Work Hours/Shift/Remote

Must be willing and able to work any assigned shift (first, second, or third). Work schedules may include Monday to Friday, Tuesday to Saturday, or a combination thereof, based on business needs.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Work in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.
  • Operate pharmaceutical production machinery independently.
  • Execute manufacturing procedures according to batch records (BMR) and SOPs.
  • Perform machine changeovers, cleaning, setup, and ensure cleanliness and proper equipment setup.
  • Prepare rooms and equipment for manufacturing, including room clearance, filter replacement, and equipment calibration.
  • Ensure line clearance before manufacturing activities.
  • Manage material transfer, dispense materials, and handle final product labeling as per BMR.
  • Wear appropriate PPE as per SOP/BMR before starting processes.
  • Operate equipment independently within area of responsibility.
  • Maintain quality standards during manufacturing.
  • Complete manufacturing documents accurately and on time.
  • Train on SOPs and ensure compliance with cGMP standards.
  • Use equipment safely following health and safety procedures.
  • Work extended hours if needed to meet schedules.
  • Follow company policies, participate in safety programs, and ensure a clean work environment.
  • Adhere to Cipla's safety, health, and environmental policies.
  • Work under supervision or independently, exercising professional judgment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

0-3 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing; preference for experience in generic pharmaceuticals.

Skills/Competencies
  • Legible handwriting and accurate documentation skills.
  • Understanding of granulation, compression, coating, and encapsulation machinery.
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong documentation and scientific principles knowledge.
  • Clear communication skills, both oral and written, in English.
Physical Requirements
  • No restrictions working with powders containing active pharmaceutical ingredients.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, standing, walking, and ladder climbing.
  • Lift up to 35 pounds and move pallets/equipment using appropriate equipment.
