This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor/Senior Manufacturing Supervisor and is located in Las Piedras, PR.

What you will do

Execute efficiently all activities related to control, operation, and light maintenance of manufacturing equipment within a quality and compliance environment. Perform manufacturing activities in coating, gel dipping, and printing to determine the final product's shape and appearance.

This position is considered sensitive for safety reasons, as it involves responsibilities that may impact health and safety or cause significant property damage if performed under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate machines and process equipment following all safety, quality, and environmental instructions to meet production expectations.
• Make adjustments, changes, and clean equipment according to operational procedures to support production and safety standards.
• Document all operations, cleaning, and maintenance activities in official records or computerized systems, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Collect samples during processing and perform process tests to ensure product quality.
• Transport materials between process stages using forklifts or hand jacks, adhering to safety protocols.
• Perform transactions in the inventory system as per operational procedures.
• Communicate with supervisors and mechanics to address equipment issues promptly.
• Participate in shift change meetings to ensure operational continuity.
• If certified, train new operators and ensure proper training is provided.
• Collect data and support report generation on performance, waste, downtime, safety, and quality.
• Attend scheduled training and participate in meetings and committees as required.
• Support projects and validation activities within the area.
• Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and eliminate non-value activities.
• Assist in generating reports on non-conformities and deviations.
• Verify process activities, ensuring compliance with GMP and documentation standards, and report deviations immediately.
• Properly dispose of waste materials to prevent spills and reduce hazardous waste generation.

Area-specific tasks

Coating Area: Execute tasks related to coating process control, including material handling, solution preparation, coating, sampling, and reconciliation.

Gel Dipping Area: Perform similar control activities for gel dipping, including solution preparation, machine operation, and quality checks.

Laser and Printing Area: Manage laser and printing process activities, ensuring proper placement, adjustments, and testing.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

High school diploma. Physical ability to perform medium work involving physical effort, communication skills, manual dexterity, and tolerance to protective equipment. Basic knowledge of computer systems, math skills, and understanding of GMP.

Certifications/Licenses

Forklift driver's license.

Leadership and Other Requirements

Demonstrate strong leadership competencies as per J&J standards. Willingness to travel outside Puerto Rico, work overtime, support other areas, and work in shift arrangements including weekends.
