RTX is seeking a 2nd shift CNC operator in Wells, ME. You will learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines and VTCs to produce welded assemblies, following operation sheets and travelers. The role trains you toward certification to inspect and accept parts.

You will work with engineers, QA and production staff to resolve issues, maintain machines, and support continuous improvement in a high-precision aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to compute with decimals and fractions.

Responsabilités

• Verify conformance of finished work using precision measuring instruments.

What You Will Do

This is a 2nd Shift Opportunity. this is Monday - Thursday ( 4 -10 hour shifts) 3:30pm-1:30am

This position is designed to give individuals with little or no machining or grinding background the skills they need to become a Certified Operator at Pratt & Whitney.

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTC's to perform routine production operations on a variety of similar weldments and assemblies.
• Learn to work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction to set up equipment for grinding, turning, facing, boring and/or chamfering operations involving a limited number of surfaces to be machined.
• Learn to verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Learn to maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM)
• Learn to work collaboratively with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel or others to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

The salary range for this role is $17.13-$30.10 . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
