Your Role:

The Manufacturing Operator 1 will produce and purify chemical compounds to meet the demands and requirements of Millipore-Sigma customers. Responsibilities to include the following:

  • Safely handle chemicals, understanding of chemical reactions and hazards
  • Stage and de-stage materials and equipment using pallet mules, manual equipment, and PIT
  • Verify quality and integrity of material and equipment used
  • Identify unsafe conditions and correct them. Complete Safety Observation/Near Miss report with suggestions to improve/prevent condition
  • Participate in incident investigations and safety meetings
  • Perform in-process analytical testing, including work-ups and simple interpretations as described in the MPR
  • Identify malfunctions in equipment operation, and with appropriate approval, take corrective action
  • Basic job-related SAP applications
  • This is a 1st shift position - hours are 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, M-F

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree (chemical technician) in chemistry or other life science discipline OR 2+ years of college chemistry
  • Experience working in a chemistry-related environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to read and understand written protocols
  • Ability to operate forklift or hand pallet truck, hand tools, lab equipment, calculator and weighing and measuring devices
  • Basic understanding of ISO and quality systems
