Job summary

MilliporeSigma seeks a production operator in Wisconsin to produce and purify chemical compounds for customers. You will stage materials, operate vessels and related equipment, and perform in-process testing per the Master Production Record.

The role requires handling hazardous chemicals, following ISO quality procedures, and maintaining safety standards. Shift is Mon-Fri, 6am-2:30pm, with opportunities for bonuses based on performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related life science preferred.
• Experience with chemical handling and reading protocols advantageous.
• Strong mechanical skills and math aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Produce and purify chemical compounds to meet customer requirements.
• Stage materials and operate warehouse equipment.
• Basic operation of vessels, tanks, dryers, and related equipment.
• Perform in-process testing and simple data interpretation.
• Carry out distillations, filtrations, and extractions to purify products.
• Follow safety and quality procedures and systems.

Your Role:

• Produce and purify chemical compounds to meet the requirements of MilliporeSigma customers
• Stage materials and operating a variety of warehouse equipment
• Basic operation of vessels, tanks, dryers, and other related equipment
• Perform in-process analytical testing including work-ups and simple interpretations as described in the Master Production Record
• Performs distillations, filtrations, and extractions to isolate and purify products
• Follow and support all safety and quality procedures and systems

Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30pm.

Physical Attributes:

• Wear an air helmet, respirator mask, safety shoes, rubber apron, chemical protective suits and gloves, safety glasses and goggles to protect from toxic or corrosive chemicals
• Work in occasional wet, humid abnormally hot or cold environment
• Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, or crouch for long periods of time
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Work with and in proximity of hazardous chemicals
• Use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Use a range of office, laboratory, and manufacturing equipment
• Work near moving mechanical parts

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other life science discipline
• Experience with and/or chemical handling
• Strong mechanical proficiency and mathematical skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience with reading and understanding written protocols
• Experience with understanding chemical reactions and hazards
• Experience with ISO and quality systems

RSREMDPay Range for this position - $21.00/hr. - $38.00/hr. The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses.
