Job description

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Shift Information: Training schedule for the first two weeks will be Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. After training, the regular shift will transition to 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.

Sirius Staffing is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Manufacturing Operator to support chemical manufacturing operations in a large-scale production environment. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn, follow strict procedures, and build hands‑on experience in chemical manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming raw materials and production supplies.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment including reactors, pumps, crystallizers, centrifuges, tumbler dryers, solvent transfer systems, and distillation equipment.
  • Assist with production processes including reaction, isolation, drying, and packaging of chemical products.
  • Handle flammable materials and chemicals safely while strictly adhering to SOPs, safety protocols, and SDS requirements.
  • Utilize PPE and respiratory protection equipment, including participation in in‑house respirator fit testing and maintaining daily shaving requirements for proper respirator seal.
  • Lay out transfer trains and assist with production setups involving reactors ranging from 200–500 gallons and crystallizers from 750–2,000 gallons.
  • Perform material transfers using pallet jacks, electric walk‑behind tow motors, and forklifts (training provided).
  • Conduct basic analytical testing such as pH measurements and submit product samples for Quality Control testing.
  • Generate and maintain accurate production documentation, batch records, labels, and logbooks in accordance with GDP and ALCOA principles.
  • Perform cleaning, inspection, and labeling of containers, vessels, and equipment.
  • Properly manage chemical waste disposal, recovery, and hazardous material handling procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of manufacturing and work areas.
  • Participate in safety inspections and actively contribute to a proactive safety culture.
  • Promptly report process deviations, abnormalities, or safety concerns to supervision.
  • Participate in company training programs and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support efficient departmental operations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous manufacturing, chemical handling, or production experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Forklift experience is helpful; training will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and batch instructions.
  • Ability to work safely in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with lift‑assist equipment.
  • Ability to work while wearing full PPE, including respirators and fully encapsulated suits, in both hot and cold environments.
  • Must be able to wear respiratory protection equipment for extended periods of time.
