Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Project Manager 3 to lead the Tactical Surveillance Mission Platforms (TSMP) Operating Unit and the Operations Project Manager (OPM) Team. This position will report to the OPM Director for the Airborne Surveillance Business Unit located in Baltimore, MD.

The OPM Manager position is both a functional management position with direct reports and a Project Leadership position. The Manufacturing Operations Project Managers are the interface between the Business Division and Manufacturing.

This position is responsible for schedule management and cost accountability of Manufacturing activities for this Business Division.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  1. Manage the production execution for Business Unit programs
  2. Manage Manufacturing cost and schedule performance
  3. Serve as Manufacturing lead for all proposals in the Business Unit
  4. Create and lead teams to resolve the issues adversely impacting the manufacturing execution of the programs
  5. Understand and report on Manufacturing Operations status at the required level of detail to the Program Manager, Sector Executive Management and customers
  6. Ensure Manufacturing has the needed resources to execute the programs
  7. Serve as Functional Manager and direct the work of your reporting Operations Project Managers
  8. Perform manpower planning and execute hiring to support the Business Division
  9. Mentor, develop, and assess direct reports
  10. Provide strategic leadership to ensure all Program and Manufacturing objectives are achieved
  11. Provide Manufacturing expertise to support the strategic vision of the Business Division

The chosen candidate must have demonstrated ability in working with cross organizational teams and customers; the ability to set and clearly articulate goals/priorities and successfully communicate them to key staff; strong leadership skills; and a track record of building high-performance teams, with a particular focus on employee development, engagement, inclusion, and retention.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience working in Manufacturing, Engineering, Test, Production, or similar roles; Master's degree with 6 years’ experience
  2. 5+ years of experience leading people and/or projects
  3. Minimum of 2 years supporting direct reports
  4. Working knowledge of SAP and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems
  5. Program execution experience with excellent presentation and communication skills
  6. Candidate must have an Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a STEM field
  2. Demonstrated expertise in IMS Scheduling, production planning, and material management tools
  3. Experience leading Manufacturing proposal efforts

Salary Range: $147,500 - $221,300
