Job summary

Methacrylates seeks an Operations Manager to lead the MMA Plant's manufacturing and logistics, ensuring safe, compliant, and on-time production in line with the site strategy.

Ten years of manufacturing experience and a bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering are required, with a strong emphasis on Lean and continuous improvement and excellent communication with senior management and shop staff.

Qualifications

• Ten years of manufacturing experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering required.
• Thorough knowledge of industrial engineering theory and practice.
• Strong knowledge of personnel and labor relations, accounting principles, plant maintenance, materials handling, safety and environmental regulations.
• Prior leadership experience and ability to plan/organize/control a multi-unit high-hazard chemical facility (OSHA PSM and EPA RMP).
• Excellent oral and written communication with senior management and shop-floor staff.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a background in Lean and chemical manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations of the MMA Plant in compliance with regulatory and company requirements, protecting safety and health.
• Plan and manage plant operations and logistics to achieve on-time output meeting S&OP and customer requirements within budget.
• Drive Manufacturing Excellence to shape site goals and pursue continuous improvement.
• Ensure operations team has skills, tools, and information for safe, reliable operation via training systems and procedures.
• Maintain a positive work environment, high employee engagement, and strong safety culture.
• Improve manufacturing efficiencies and reduce unnecessary costs by guiding staff in safety, production, shipping, receiving, quality, planning, scheduling and maintenance.
