Job summary

SPIROL Shim Division in Stow, Ohio is seeking a Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This on-site role runs from May to August 2027 at SPIROL's Stow facility, giving you hands-on exposure to real engineering projects that affect daily operations.

You will work with engineering and manufacturing professionals to evaluate procedures, participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives, and support time studies and equipment efforts.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate Engineering or Technical program at an accredited college or university.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with AutoCAD and 3D CAD modeling.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing procedures and production methods for improvement opportunities.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and engineering projects.
• Perform time studies to support production and item creation standards.
• Assist with new or upgraded process and equipment implementation projects.
• Support process development, improvement, and documentation efforts.
• Develop procedures, forms, checklists, and schedules to support manufacturing activities.
• Research new technologies, equipment, and supplies to improve operations.
• Collaborate with plant personnel, office staff, suppliers, and contractors as needed.
• Gain hands on experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
