Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering leader for North America powertrain programs, including battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine, and transmission. You will guide the engineering team to deliver safe, high-quality, on-time, and cost-effective processes for NM, NNM, and adaptation programs.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, process standardization, and deployment of SIS tools, with sites across NA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience; Powertrain manufacturing a plus.
  • 5+ years in program management or multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, SPC, tooling, jigs & fixture design, machining processes.
  • Ability to translate technical data into executive summaries for presentations.
  • Ability to analyze data and present it clearly to all levels.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in powertrain manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute large-scale projects on time and budget.
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Teamcenter, SolidWorks, NX, MS Office; G Suite a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Manufacturing Engineering functions for NA powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine and transmission programs.
  • Perform assessments for process changes and investment requirements for cost studies.
  • Oversee RFQs, sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of collectors and filtration.
  • Manage NM and NNM powertrain program requests; ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate NM program facilities including site prep and machine installation.
  • Lead Flow activities to track Scope, Timing and Cost on programs.
  • Implement SIS methodology and deploy SPW tools; drive root cause solving efforts.
  • Develop/improve process and equipment standards for facilities infrastructure.
  • Support Engine, Transmission, Casting plants across locations and maintain CoC relationships.
  • Drive standardization across plants and regions; partner on Product Design for Manufacturing.
  • Lead procurement, design, build, install, qualification and launch of facilities and supporting equipment.

Job description

Responsible for leading all Manufacturing Engineering functions for North America powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine, and transmission programs. Their primary role is to guide their Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs.

Main Responsibilities Include
  • Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies
  • Oversee engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ’s), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration
  • Manage and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budget
  • Manage all New Model (NM) program’s facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation
  • Lead Flow activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)
  • Lead their team in the implementation of Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SPW tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks
  • Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to facilities infrastructure.
  • Support the Engine Manufacturing Plants located in Dundee (MI), Trenton (MI), Kokomo (IN) and Saltillo (MX); Transmission Plants in Kokomo and Tipton (IN); Casting Plants in Kokomo (IN) and Etobicoke (ON), while maintaining a relationship with the Global CoC initiatives.
  • Drive standardization across plants in all regions
  • Strongly partner to contribute to Product Design for Manufacturing processes
  • Lead procurement, design, build, install, qualification and launch of facilities and process supporting equipment and infrastructure
  • Support Stellantis Production Way initiatives
  • Center of Competency facilities support for NAFTA region
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology or technical equivalent, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years' manufacturing experience, Powertrain Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in program management or multi-tasking environment
  • Must be able to work and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Must have strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills
  • Must have knowledge about GD&T, Statistical Process Control knowledge, tooling, jigs & fixture design, machining processes
  • Ability to translate technical data and analysis into an executive summary format for presentation
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and present data to all levels of the company in easily understandable formats
  • Ability to implement SPW principles and ability to lead effectively in a bargaining unit environment
  • Ability to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated abilities to plan and execute large scale projects in time and budget
  • Ability to effectively lead, teach, coach and mentor employees
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop the best teams
  • Knowledge of advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage data analysis to identify root causes and attack them to closure
  • Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning a plus
  • High demonstration of leadership and teamwork characteristics
  • Autocad, Teamcenter, 3D modelling Software use like Solidworks, NX, Microsoft Office intermediate or advance knowledge, G Suite applications a plus
